Caring in the Workplace
Today, many people have no relationship with a church or other organized support group. As a result, they have no refuge from life’s pressures. To cope with the demands of work and the need for material support, they often push their family struggles and personal needs to the background. Yet, these problems don’t go away. They are brought, as emotional baggage, to work each day.
Business owners know the heartache of employee difficulties, often finding themselves helplessly caught between workplace demands and personal empathy. Chaplain will stand in the gap for employers and business owners: to meet employees where they are with compassionate care, complete confidentiality and meaningful hope.
Overview: The Need Is Great
People spend more time at work than anywhere else. But just because they go to work doesn’t mean they’ve left their worries at home. Anxieties crowd out focused work time. Hospital visits create mounting unpaid days off. Illness and death devastate families and burden employees with skyrocketing health care costs.
Employees aren’t the only ones who suffer during crisis. Time after time, employers repeat stories of inadequate workplace support programs and feelings of helplessness.

Background
After serving the Building Industry since 1981 in various successful roles here and in South Africa, Alan Pillay is now devoting most of his time to work as a Corporate and Community Chaplain and Pastoral carer.
He is a qualified Chaplain and a credentialled Pastor with the Australian Christian Churches movement
